PROJECT PURPOSE

ThE Problem

Taking care of a loved one with a progressive neurological disorder can be stressful when it comes to following care plans, coordinating and managing specific care tasks and maintaining updated records. This care becomes even more complex and stressful if the management of these tasks, resources, and information is not centralized between numerous caregivers.

The solution

Our mobile application aims to centralize care taking through calendar centered tasks while also providing a means to store health related documents and take notes about task completion. This app will be HIPAA compliant as it deals with sensitive health care information.

The TAKEAWAY

Building this management platform to account for all the scheduling of caretaker responsibilities while also maintaining the spirit of healthcare and loved ones was an interesting task. I was personally responsible for the task management aspect of the app which took a lot of breaking down the system to understand what was necessary and how to create a caretaker app that is helpful rather than hurtful to a family's wellbeing.

ThE Problem

The long line of communication between customers, and designers & engineers has led designers & engineers to lose their sense of direct cause and effect within their day-to-day work. Their understanding of the correlation between their tasks and how those tasks relate to a sub-solution within the product has impacted their motivation and empathy- two tools essential to everyone in product that seriously contribute to the well being and impact of a product.

The solution

I created 5 user personas, reflective of the people who use Stavvy's product, with the goal of supplying designers and devs with the customer information applicable to their job.

With results from an insight survey over these groups, many conversations with Product Managers, extensive research, 11 30-min interviews for 3 personas, and research of existing and outside resources for the other 2, I crafted my 5 personas.

The TAKEAWAY

presented these personas along with additional information about personas in general to the entire Product team, and handed my resources off to each Product Manager and Engineering Manager.

Through this coop-long project, I was able to employ my interview and research skills and test my leadership and communication. I learned what personas are truly built for, and how to research purposefully and give meaningful results.
